  • Dustin Falk

Born and raised in the Comox Valley, I can’t think of a better place to have returned to practice medicine and raise a family. I love the ability to enjoy life and outdoor recreation on a regular basis whether it is world class mountain biking trails or salmon fishing after finishing up a day in the office. Going on 7 years with the Comox Medical Clinic, I also can’t think of a better group of colleagues who truly support and look out for each other.

  • Ed Howard

Born in Toronto & raised in Saskatchewan, I made my way out west to the Comox Valley in 2001. Immediately it was clear that this was a gem of a place to live. With the mild weather, lush forests, proximity to the ocean & mountains, there is a lot to do & explore; but what I love most is the friendly community that has now been my home for over 20 years. My wife & I have raised 4 kids here, and we have been involved in a multitude of activities including camping, snowboarding, sailing, dance & theatre. Most days though, I enjoy spending time in our garden, strolling through a forested trail, or taking a quick trip down to Goose Spit Park to paddle board in Comox Bay

Our Clinic

We are currently 9 physicians who share the office space working together in either full time (8 half days a week) to part time (4 half days a week) practices. Many of us began our careers here as a locums in the clinic and made the easy decision to remain on full-time. Since the pandemic we have operated in a hybrid system seeing patients both in-person and via telehealth. Our team of professional and thoughtful MOA’s provide personalized care to our patients coordinating and arranging a wide range of services including appointment booking, billing, managing referral correspondence, patient flow within the office and making sure that every day “just works”. Under the experienced leadership of our full-time office manager, we enjoy the benefits of an office environment built on mutual respect, integrity and shared common goals and experience.

The Comox Medical Clinic was started in 1958 and has steadily grown over the years. In 2005 we designed and built the new clinic building that we currently practice out of. Now with a comfortable reception area, 12 large exam rooms, 2 physician collaboration offices, nursing centre and a staff room complete with kitchen and floor to ceiling windows we have access to a great purpose-built space.

The thoughtful patient centered design of each room ensures that the presence of modern office technology never takes away from the experience of personal patient encounters. Every room is fully equipped to take on whatever comes your way and minor surgical procedure trolleys are available to all rooms for quick impromptu suturing, planned skin biopsies, IUD insertions or endometrial sampling. Our in-house autoclave system ensures that sterile instruments are always in stock and ready when you are.
