One Valley. Five Communities. Endless Possibilities.

The Comox Valley is tucked in between the Beaufort Mountain Range and Salish Sea on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Just 20 minutes by air from Vancouver or a beautiful hour of coastal driving north from Nanaimo. However you get here the accessibility to year round adventures in a thriving coastal community is second to none. Whether you prefer the seaside beaches and harbour life of the town of Comox, the upbeat small town urban bustle of Courtenay, the youthful vibrance of the Village of Cumberland -where hip eateries and microbreweries welcome you after a day of mountain biking - or see yourself in the rural acreage life from Fanny Bay to Black Creek you are never more than 15 minutes from enjoying it all.

Each community offers a unique vibe and selection of restaurants, eateries, and shops. Whether you need whole Fenugreek seeds for an authentic curry, a new ski jacket for your kids or a replacement appliance from a big box store you’ll find it here.

With a growing population of young families you can choose the right educational options for your family including Montesori, public elementary and high schools, French immersion and French Language, 2 small private day schools, a modern take on home schooling through NIDES. Post secondary options are available through the beautiful North Island College campus which offers degree, diploma, university transfer programmes and a wide array of trade school options . And whether you are in school or a long time out, the Valley is home to as many sport leagues as you can fit into your schedule from masters swimming, to hockey, soccer, tennis and the list goes on. When you come off the pitch you can choose to attend any number of events offered by the local arts community from live Jazz to Theatre.

With extremely mild winters and long warm summers there is also plenty of time to explore the outdoors. With almost 200 km of trails the mountian biking network and culture in Cumberland will satisfy riders of all abilities 365 days a year. At the Mount Washington Ski Resort you can access over 1,700 acres and 505 vertical metres of alpine terrain, 55kms of cross-country skiing, and 25kms of snowshoeing trails along with a dedicated Nordic lodge, Tube Park and Fat Bike trails. Strathcona Wilderness Park with nearly 250 000 hectares of mountainous rugged country that boasts Canada’s highest waterfall is a siren call for any back-country enthusiast.

In short no matter what you choose to do here in the Valley you can see why we call it home.
